Welcome to the work of artist, David M Neilson, BA
An artist member of the RGI and Paisley Art Institute; David M Neilson trained at The Glasgow School of Art and Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art.
Over the years my work has mainly been for the private commissions market on a variety of subjects including landscapes, townscapes and transport art. More recently, my work has become more accessible to the public as I have more frequently started to exhibit in galleries in Glasgow, Paisley, Norfolk and Fife. After a successful career teaching in Fife secondary schools, I retired early in 2007 which has allowed me to paint full time since then.
In recent years, I have been particularly interested in the surviving fishing fleet at Pittenweem in the East Neuk of Fife and this has provided the subject matter for many of the paintings I have produced in the last few years.
Even more recently, my subject matter has returned to the city where I spent many years honing my artistic skills. I am enjoying painting a series of works on many of the well-known, and not so well-known landmarks of Glasgow.
Enjoy!
